Jeelna’s interest in fashion started at an early age of twelve in Nairobi, Kenya. Her training began at the American Intercontinental University in London, where she graduated in 2003.
After her studies in fashion, Jeelna has had two fashion shows in which she
showed her collection. Her collection offers a spectrum of fabrics with a
wide range of ready made sarees, lenghas, fusion wear and wedding attire.
Most of her collection is influenced by this ever-growing trend of western
designs.
In addition to these fashion shows Jeelna has also presented a pageant show
titled Miss Shah Kenya 2004, which was held in Nairobi.
Her experience has led her to travel to many countries such as Italy, Thailand, China, Japan, Dubai, India and Kenya.
She kept her interest in Indian fashion by freelancing for family and friends. The success of this led her to pursue a label of her own (JAS).
Jeelna has been working on her next collection, which will be launched in Nairobi, Kenya in August 2005. Together with this fashion show Jeelna will again present a pageant show. |
